Three AI Supplier Questions for the Week Ahead
Check what needs action now, what changes access to work, and what could justify new spending.
Give supplier changes three separate owners this week: one to check affected transactions now, one to review access to work, and one to test the case for new capacity.
Key points
What this paper means for leaders
- Do not confuse a consultation deadline with a requirement already in effect.
- Treat a product event as a reason to ask about availability and controls, not permission to expand access.
- Ask for usable capacity and complete operating costs before changing infrastructure commitments.
- End the week with a dated decision record, including any decision to wait.

Put the urgent work ahead of the launch calendar
Give three people a clear supplier question before the week begins. Legal and procurement should check affected technology transfers. The workplace owner should examine any change to file access. The infrastructure owner should ask what capacity can actually be delivered. These are different decisions, even when the headlines group them under AI.
The distinction matters this week because one development already requires attention, while two scheduled events may produce information worth reviewing. Do not wait for a keynote to address a current requirement. Equally, do not turn a scheduled demonstration into a reason to sign a larger contract.
